About Staff Selection UK
We're a specialist recruitment agency operating across the UK, USA, and UAE. We partner with businesses to help them find and secure the talent they need to grow, combining sector expertise with a consultative, relationship-led approach to recruitment.
The Role
We've recently won a significant new industrial contract, and we're looking for an experienced Account Manager to take charge of it and drive its growth from here. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on relationship management and commercial growth.
You'll inherit a live account with strong early momentum, and your job will be to bed it in, deepen it, and expand it into new sites, departments, and hiring managers across the client's business. This is not a cold-desk BD role, the relationship exists and the contract is won. We need someone who can step in immediately, build trust quickly, understand the client's hiring landscape in depth, and turn a strong start into a long-term, growing account.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the client relationship, becoming the day-to-day point of contact and trusted advisor
- Understand the client's business, structure, and hiring needs in depth by building relationships beyond the primary contact into other departments and decision-makers
- Deliver a consistently high standard of service on live vacancies, working closely with our delivery/resourcing team to ensure roles are filled quickly and with quality candidates
- Identify and convert opportunities to grow the account, new sites, new departments, new job families.
- Own account growth targets and report on account performance, pipeline, and revenue against target
- Conduct regular client review meetings (business reviews) to gather feedback, resolve issues, and identify future hiring needs.
- Act as the internal advocate for the client, ensuring the wider team understands their priorities and ways of working.
- Keep accurate records of account activity, contacts, and opportunities in the CRM.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
