ROLE OVERVIEW

The Events Company delivers all types of events from team building to gala dinners, conferences, and away days. The role of Account Manager is to increase conversion rate by developing and growing a portfolio of clients by taking a proactive, consultative approach to event sales. You will work closely with clients to understand their objectives, identify opportunities to add value, and maximise revenue through upselling and cross-selling of services, including venue finding, AV, and event management. You will own the sales cycle from initial enquiry through to contract, before handing over to the logistics and delivery team to plan and execute the event. Following delivery, you will re-engage clients to gather feedback, strengthen relationships, and secure future business opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and respond to a range of enquiries via multiple channels, following the agreed enquiry handling process
  • Take a consultative approach to understand client objectives, budgets, and wider business goals, positioning tailored event solutions
  • Proactively grow revenue from existing clients through upselling, cross-selling, and repeat bookings
  • Identify and deliver venue finding solutions, sourcing and recommending suitable venues aligned to client needs
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with key clients, agents, and venues to drive loyalty and repeat business
  • Prepare and present compelling proposals, quotations, and presentations that demonstrate value and maximise conversion
  • Ensure proposals align with client budgets while maintaining agreed profit margins
  • Arrange and lead client meetings, site visits, and presentations (virtual and in-person)
  • Successfully convert enquiries into confirmed bookings
  • Manage the process through to contract signature
  • Ensure all commercial terms, costs, and margins are accurate prior to handover
  • Complete a comprehensive handover to the logistics and delivery team, ensuring all client requirements and expectations are clearly communicated
  • Raise client invoices and work with the accounts team to manage payment schedules
  • Ensure all supplier costs are captured accurately and submitted with relevant purchase orders
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with trusted suppliers and partners
  • Negotiate best rates and commercial terms to maximise profit margins while maintaining service excellence
  • Source new suppliers where appropriate to enhance offering and competitiveness
  • Re-engage client’s post-event to gather feedback, review performance, and identify opportunities for repeat or new business
  • Keep clients informed of new products, services, and event ideas to drive ongoing engagement
  • Work closely with the wider sales team to identify new commercial opportunities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information within CRM systems, following all sales processes and procedures
  • Ensure all processes are followed consistently and to a high standard

JOB QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong consultative selling and account management skills with a focus on relationship building
  • Proven ability to grow accounts and drive repeat business
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in supplier negotiation and margin management
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Highly organised with strong time management and attention to detail
  • Commercially aware with the ability to balance client needs and profitability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience of using a CRM (i.e. HubSpot)
  • Experience within live events, hospitality, or venue sourcing is highly desirable

LOCATION

Based at our Redditch (Worcestershire, UK) Head Office

SALARY

Upon application

Plus company and individual bonus scheme

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Hybrid working - 3 days in the office / 2 days WFH
  • Flexible shift patterns (Monday - Friday)
