Account Manager, Managed Services
Bexley, Kent | Hybrid: two days a week in the office, the rest out with customers | £50,000 base, £80,000 OTE, uncapped commission
Kontain is a growing UK MSP with a strong technical reputation and clients who stay. Our customers include construction firms, NHS trusts and investment managers, and most of them came to us by recommendation. What we need now is someone to take that reputation to market.
We're also building our AI practice: AI governance, agent-based services, and the security that has to sit around them. That's where the next stage of our growth comes from.
What you'll do
Around two thirds of your time winning new mid-sized clients, the rest growing the accounts you win and our existing clients.
- Find and win new mid-sized clients for our managed services, in construction, education, healthcare, financial services, legal and trading
- Build your own pipeline through networking, events, partners and outbound
- Look after and grow a portfolio of clients: renewals, service reviews, project and service expansion
- Build proposals with our technical team and take them through to signature
- Introduce our AI services to your clients as the practice grows
- Work public sector frameworks and tenders alongside direct commercial deals
- Keep a pipeline that reflects reality, in Dynamics 365

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What you'll bring
- 5+ years selling IT managed services, cloud or infrastructure, or fewer with a record that shows you've outperformed people with more
- A record of winning new business and beating target, not just hitting it: rankings, promotions, club trips, numbers you can talk through
- Experience selling to mid-sized organisations, where you're often talking directly to the IT manager, finance director or managing director
- A real understanding of how deals are won, from first conversation to signed contract, not just relationship management
- A disciplined approach to selling: consistent activity, qualified pipeline, accurate forecasts and a CRM that's always current
- Enough technical grounding to hold a credible conversation about Microsoft, Nutanix, Palo Alto, security and networking
- A genuine interest in AI and how organisations adopt it safely. You don't need to be an expert on day one; we'll get you there.
- Experience selling into construction, education, NHS, financial services or other regulated sectors is a strong advantage
- Comfort in a small business, where you shape the process rather than inherit one
- The drive to be among the best in your field, and to build your reputation here as we grow
- Full UK driving licence
