📍 Birmingham/Hybrid | đŸ’Œ Permanent

At Unity Trust Bank, we’re proud to be bold in our ambitions, straightforward in our approach, inclusive in our thinking, and guided by integrity and collaboration in everything we do. We believe that banking should serve the common good—and that starts with understanding our customers deeply and acting on what matters most to them. Guided by these values—and our commitment to Consumer Duty—we ensure our relationships deliver fair, transparent, and sustainable outcomes for our customers.

We’re looking for an experienced, compassionate, and customer-focused Account Opening Specialist to help deliver a first-class onboarding experience for both new and existing customers. • Manage daily account-opening tasks, processing new applications accurately and within agreed service levels.
  • Collate, assess, and validate KYC/Customer Due Diligence information for all new applications.
  • Contact customers directly to request missing information, provide guidance, and support them through the application process.
  • Proactively reach out to customers who may need help completing their application to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Work closely with Relationship Managers and Commercial Banking Officers to ensure smooth handovers and strong customer outcomes.
  • Consult with the Financial Crime team on risk-related queries, ensuring all relevant information is captured and escalated appropriately.
  • Screen customer relationships using Dow Jones for PEPs, Sanctions, and Adverse Media.
  • Maintain strong risk controls, remain vigilant to suspicious activity, and ensure compliance with AML, ABC, Fraud, and Sanctions requirements.
  • Support wider operational projects, contribute to team meetings, and help drive continuous improvement across processes and procedures.
  • Communicate with customers clearly and professionally across telephone, written, and face-to-face channels.
  • Maintain templates, scripts, and documentation to support consistent and high-quality service delivery.
  • Provide MI inputs such as case volumes, SLA updates, and customer response tracking.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
