The Role: Account Relationship Consultant

The Account Relationship Consultant plays an active role in strengthening adviser relationships and supporting the delivery of our growth ambitions. This role works in close partnership with Intermediated Distribution teams to identify opportunities, enhance adviser engagement, and deliver positive client outcomes.

With a focus on being clear, supportive and commercially aware, the role helps advisers navigate products, tools and digital journeys with confidence, positioning M&G as a trusted and easy-to-do-business-with partner.

This is a fast-paced and varied role that offers the opportunity to develop valuable sales and relationship management skills while building expertise across a broad range of products, services, and propositions. Key Responsibilities

Relationship Management & Business Growth

  • Build trusted relationships with a panel of financial advisers, supporting the delivery of growth strategies in partnership with Account Managers.
  • Identify and progress sales opportunities through adviser engagement, insight, and management information.

  • Provide timely, accurate support on product, proposition and pre-sales queries.
  • Help advisers maximise digital tools and self-service journeys, delivering engaging training and education sessions where appropriate.
  • Champion PruFund, M&G's flagship investment proposition, through targeted engagement, helping advisers recognise client opportunities and maximise the value of the solution.

Sales & Opportunity Generation

  • Conduct quality fact-finds to uncover opportunities and generate referrals for Account Managers.
  • Support quotation activity, new business generation, and the delivery of clear, compelling sales messages.

Continuous Improvement

  • Resolve complex adviser queries collaboratively and contribute valuable adviser insight to projects, proposition enhancements, and business improvements.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Broader product and proposition awareness across the market, with an understanding of key solutions including Bonds, Retirement and Pension propositions, ISAs, and investment products.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence positively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and confidently.
  • Commercially aware, proactive, and able to prioritise effectively to achieve business objectives.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Experience supporting training, onboarding, or capability development.
  • Good understanding of adviser needs and the financial services marketplace.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. R01, R04 or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards them.
