You will join the Accounting team and be part of the wider Finance department of JERA Nex bp. The team is made up of approximately 16 people working to deliver high quality and efficient accounting on a local standalone as well as consolidated group level for a multinational organisation.

In this role you will:

  • We are seeking an experienced Accountant to take full ownership of end-to-end accounting for a portfolio of legal entities within the group. This is a hands-on, "a-z" role covering everything from transactional processing through statutory reporting and audit management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end accounting for assigned legal entities, including invoice posting/payments, accruals, month-end close and reconciliations
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation of tax returns.
  • Manage accounts receivable, cash management, and liquidity planning
  • Prepare statutory financial statements in cooperation with local in-country support
  • Lead statutory audit management and support group audit requirements for your respective entities
  • Identify and drive process improvement and automation opportunities within the accounting function
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls.

To be successful in the role you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a comparable professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and SAP S/4HANA
  • Solid working knowledge of IFRS. Knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) is a plus.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to process improvement/automation
  • Experience with VAT and CIT processes is essential
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Strong ethical standards and integrity.
