Newly Qualified Accountant

Lanarkshire

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 (DOE)

Lusona Consultancy are delighted to be supporting a professional services organisation based in Glasgow to recruit a Newly Qualified Accountant. This is an exciting role with a thriving organisation with considerable growth and development prospects for the individual. The Accountant will join an experienced team on a hybrid working basis within an ambitious and progressive environment. This role will oversee a portfolio of projects ensuring financial management and compliance across end-end financial activities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Managing and reconciling core financial records across ledgers and systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintaining accruals, prepayments, and amortisation workings.
  • Preparing management accounts, including variance analysis against budget.
  • Overseeing cash book and loan schedule maintenance.
  • Preparing statutory accounts and supporting documentation for year-end audits.
  • Presenting finance reports to shareholders at quarterly project board meetings.
  • Maintaining financial models and preparing budgets and cash flow forecasts.

The Accountant will be given a generous benefits package from a salary of £50,000 - £55,000 per annum with hybrid working, 33 days holiday, bonus and private health cover. Requirements

Applicants will be CA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, and we welcome candidates from both industry and accountancy practice backgrounds, as suitable experience in either environment will be considered. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships both internally and with external stakeholders. Strong analytical ability and attention to detail are essential, along with the confidence to challenge assumptions and improve processes. Successful candidates will take a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements, ensuring efficiency and accuracy across all financial activities.
