Company Description
TaxAssist Accountants Newbury, provides accountancy and tax services to taxpayers, self-employed individuals, and small to medium-sized businesses across West Berkshire. As part of the national TaxAssist Accountants network, the practice supports over 100,000 clients through fixed-fee pricing and consistently high levels of service. Core services include accounts and tax returns for sole traders and limited companies, personal tax returns, VAT, payroll, and company formations.
Role Description
This is an exciting role for an ambitious and dynamic experienced Accountant who will work full time on-site at our Newbury office. The role will involve supporting a portfolio of individuals and small to medium-sized businesses. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Preparing sole trader and limited company accounts
- Drafting and filing personal and business tax returns
- Managing VAT and payroll processes

The Accountant will be responsible for a portfolio of clients as well as working with the Director and Practice Manager to recruit new clients.
Qualifications
Candidates should:
- Be ACA/ACCA or AAT qualified with at least 2 years of experience of working with small and medium-sized businesses.
- Possess strong financial accounting skills, including experience with accounts preparation, Corporation and Self Assessment Tax Returns and VAT.
- Have strong IT skills and experience of working with online bookkeeping and accounting software packages (e.g. Xero, Quickbooks and TaxCalc).
- Possess strong communication and client service skills, including the ability to explain financial information clearly and build long-term client relationships.
- Have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a busy office environment.
