ACA qualified and audit trained? What if your next role gave you exposure to acquisitions, PE, international growth and strategic projects - without being tied to the office five days a week?
I'm partnering with a fast-growing, PE-backed international business that is continuing to expand through acquisition. They're looking for a senior Accountant to join their Group Finance team on a 12-month FTC, with the potential to become permanent.
This is not a traditional financial reporting role. You'll be involved in the finance activity behind the Group's acquisition strategy; helping bring newly acquired businesses into the Group, validating financial information and working on projects that have a genuine impact on the wider business.
You'll have the opportunity to work on:
- Acquisition and integration projects
- Completion accounts and earn-out calculations
- Reviewing and validating historical financial information
- Reconciliations across finance systems and reporting platforms
- Budgets and forecasts
- Identifying and resolving discrepancies in financial data
- Finance transformation and wider ad hoc projects

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
And you'll be doing this within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial PE-backed environment where the business is continuing to grow.
You'll ideally be:
- ACA qualified
- Audit trained, with subsequent experience in industry
- Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable reviewing large volumes of financial data and identifying what doesn't look right
- Someone who enjoys project-based work and variety rather than simply repeating the same month-end cycle
- Able to work autonomously and take ownership, while knowing when to ask questions or challenge
- A confident communicator who can build relationships across different parts of the Group
Previous experience of acquisitions, integrations, completion accounts or finance transformation isn't essential.
The Group is growing quickly and acquires a number of entrepreneurial SME businesses. Some of those businesses have relatively traditional or less sophisticated finance processes, so this role isn't simply about identifying what's wrong. It's about having the judgement and interpersonal skills to work with people, understand the underlying issues and help bring them into the Group effectively.
