About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join the Finance department, a supportive environment where you will understand how your work contributes to the strategic goals of the service and of the University as a whole.
Your Main Duties And Responsibilities Will Include
- Financial accounts responsibilities will include the Fixed Assets Register, production of the University’s Corporation Tax and VAT returns, cash forecasting and completion of external returns.
- Management accounts queries will include coordination of the annual budget, production of the monthly management accounts, making accruals and prepayments and responding to accounting queries.
- Authoritative point of contact for external stakeholders as well as senior administration managers, PVCs and Directors internally in relation to their role.

About You
As an Accountant, you will have:
- Experience working in a finance setting at an equivalent level
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent technical capability.
- Ability to develop and enhance computerised management systems, including advanced Excel to create, update and manage workbooks and to analyse and report on data
- Ability to organise own personal workload and work effectively under pressure, prioritising whilst meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to produce and articulate, clear and concise reports, policy and business documents
- Excellent and demonstrable customer service skills
