Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in the Manchester Area, United Kingdom. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including posting transactions, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling accounts. Responsibilities include:

- Preparing monthly and annual financial statements
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
- Monitoring cash flow for multiple store locations
- Processing invoices
- Managing accounts payable and receivable
- Supporting payroll accuracy checks
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations

The role will also involve collaborating with store managers and senior leadership to provide financial reports, support decision-making, and contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in financial accounting, including ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Proficiency with accounting software (Sage 50) and spreadsheets, with the ability to analyze data and produce clear reports
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management in a retail or multi-site environment
- Understanding of local tax, compliance, and basic payroll principles relevant to the United Kingdom
- Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with store and head office teams
- Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and handle sensitive financial information confidentially
- Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA part-qualified, or equivalent experience)
- Experience in retail or FMCG accounting is beneficial but not mandatory
