About The Job
Are you ready to take the next step in your accountancy career? We are looking for a motivated accountant to join our growing Newport practice. Whether you are qualified or still studying, this is an opportunity to manage your own client portfolio, develop your technical skills, and build a future with a firm that supports your growth.
You will work with a diverse range of clients across different sectors, preparing accounts, VAT returns, and tax filings. You will also have direct client contact, giving you the chance to build relationships and provide real advice. This is not just a job. It is a chance to grow, learn, and progress.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of clients across various sectors
- Prepare accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Prepare personal and corporate tax computations
- Assist with management accounts preparation
- Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide advice
- Support and review work of junior team members
- Ensure compliance with HMRC deadlines and practice standards
Key Requirements
We are looking for someone who is:
- Part-qualified or qualified AAT, ACCA, or ACA
- Experienced in a UK accountancy practice
- Confident with bookkeeping and year-end accounts
- Experienced in preparing VAT returns and statutory accounts
- Proficient in Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks
- Good with Excel
- Friendly, clear communicator who enjoys client contact

Desirable But Not Essential
- Experience with IRIS or similar software
- Knowledge of CIS returns
- Some supervisory experience
