Accountant

Leicester Based
Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE
Permanent, Full-Time

Are you a fully qualified Accountant with at least 3 years' experience working within an accountancy practice?

Regional Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Accountant to join an established accountancy practice based in Leicester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Accountant looking to utilise their practice experience within a varied role, working closely with a portfolio of clients and supporting them with their accounting requirements.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Fully qualified Accountant, CIMA/ACCA is preferred but can also consider AAT with strong practice experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working within an accountancy practice
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practice-based accounting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines

Desirable:

  • Experience managing a portfolio of clients
  • Experience with accounting software and relevant practice systems
  • Proactive and professional approach to client relationships

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare accounts for a varied portfolio of clients
  • Complete year-end accounts and financial statements
  • Prepare and review VAT returns and other statutory submissions
  • Provide clients with accounting advice and support
  • Liaise directly with clients to understand their requirements and resolve queries
  • Ensure all work is completed accurately and within required deadlines
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant accounting standards and legislation
  • Support the wider practice team with a range of accounting and client-related duties

Requirements

As an Accountant, you will also be expected to:

  • Be a proactive and commercially aware individual
  • Have excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Be confident communicating with clients and colleagues
  • Be able to work independently while contributing effectively to the wider team
  • Manage competing priorities within a busy practice environment
