Accountant
A well-established and highly regarded group operating within the healthcare sector is looking to appoint an Accountant to join its growing finance team. This is a broad, hands-on role covering both accounts and payroll — ideal for someone who enjoys variety and wants genuine exposure across the full finance function.
If you're AAT Level 3 qualified or part-qualified, confident across Sage 50 and Sage Payroll, and ready to take ownership of a varied role within a stable, people-focused business, this one is worth a closer look.
What you'll be doing:
- Taking care of day-to-day accounts work, including processing invoices, managing the purchase and sales ledgers and keeping records accurate and up to date
- Helping to run payroll end-to-end through Sage Payroll, ensuring accurate and timely processing
- Handling bank and credit card reconciliations each month
- Processing employee expenses and ensuring correct allocation
- Supporting month-end activities, including journals, accruals and prepayments
- Dealing with VAT returns and ensuring timely HMRC submissions
- Managing pension contributions and auto-enrolment compliance
- Acting as a finance point of contact for internal colleagues, resolving queries clearly and efficiently
- Supporting the senior finance team with reporting, analysis and ad-hoc projects as they arise

What we're looking for:
- AAT Level 3 qualified or part-qualified (ACCA / CIMA / ACA studiers also welcome)
- Solid experience across both accounts and payroll in a similar hands-on role
- Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 and Sage Payroll
- Confident with core accounting processes — AP, AR, reconciliations and month-end
- Working knowledge of VAT, PAYE, pensions and HMRC processes
- Strong Excel skills and a naturally methodical, detail-focused approach
- Excellent communication skills — comfortable liaising with colleagues at all levels
- Well organised, deadline-driven and able to juggle competing priorities
