Client Manager / Practice Accountant
Location: Office-based (with flexibility available after probation)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (4:00pm finish every Friday)

Are you an experienced Practice Accountant or Client Manager looking for your next opportunity? Our client is a well-established, forward-thinking accountancy practice with an excellent reputation and a growing client base. Due to continued expansion, they are looking to welcome a talented accountant to their friendly and supportive team.
With a turnover of approximately £800k and a diverse portfolio of more than 400 limited company clients, alongside sole traders, partnerships, charities, and not-for-profit organisations, this is an exciting opportunity to build a long-term career within a modern practice that embraces technology and values its people.
The Role
You'll manage your own portfolio of clients, delivering a broad range of accounting and advisory services while building strong, lasting client relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships
- Preparing personal tax returns
- Completing VAT returns and ensuring Making Tax Digital compliance
- Managing client relationships and providing day-to-day accounting advice
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an outstanding client experience
- Supporting clients with cloud accounting software and improving efficiencies

This is a varied general practice role with minimal involvement in payroll or bookkeeping, allowing you to focus on higher-value client work.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- At least 3-4 years' experience working within an accountancy practice
- AAT qualification as a minimum (part-qualified or qualified ACA/ACCA candidates are also encouraged to apply)
- Experience preparing statutory accounts, VAT returns, and personal tax returns
- Knowledge of IRIS and Xero (preferred)
- Excellent communication, organisation, and client management skills
- A proactive, positive, and professional approach
