Accountant - Fixed-Term Contract

Three Bridges Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an Accountant to join a well-established business within the financial services sector on a fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative finance team where you'll take ownership of a broad range of financial accounting responsibilities, gain exposure across the wider business and work closely with senior finance leaders.

One of the standout features of this opportunity is the extensive handover period, allowing you to work alongside the current post-holder before taking full ownership of the role.

Job

This is a varied role where you'll own work from start to finish and contribute across multiple areas of the finance function.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts.
  • Producing journals, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Accounting for management fee income and expenditure.
  • Preparing VAT returns and responding to VAT-related queries.
  • Completing month-end reporting.
  • Supporting statutory accounts and tax reporting for overseas entities.
  • Assisting with the annual external audit and maintaining strong financial controls.
  • Supporting SOX compliance and wider finance projects.
  • Producing reports for senior finance leadership.
  • Building strong relationships across the business by responding to finance queries.

You

To succeed in this role, you'll be an accountant who enjoys taking ownership, building relationships, and working across a broad range of financial accounting responsibilities.

Essential:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) – may consider someone part qualified.
  • Strong financial accounting background.
  • Experience managing month-end accounting processes.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across a business.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of your work.

Desirable:

  • Experience within practice or regulated financial services.
  • VAT experience.
  • Experience reporting to a group or overseas parent company.
  • Experience working with external auditors.
