Combining sector-specific expertise with innovative digital tools, we give our clients a modern and seamless accounting experience. Every client works with a dedicated accountant who provides responsive, tailored guidance on tax planning, business structures and compliance.
As Gorilla Accounting continues to grow, we’re looking for a talented and ambitious accountant to join our team.
The role
You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of clients who subscribe to our monthly accountancy services, supporting them from onboarding through to ongoing compliance and advisory work.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Onboarding new clients and building strong, trusted relationships.
- Delivering excellent client service by email, telephone and video call.
- Providing tailored advice on tax efficiency, business structures and compliance.
- Preparing and submitting monthly payroll, quarterly VAT returns, annual company accounts and Corporation Tax returns accurately and on time.
- Working with accounting and tax software such as FreeAgent, Xero and TaxCalc.
- Communicating clearly and professionally with HMRC and other external organisations on behalf of clients.
- Maintaining accurate, complete and up-to-date client records across the practice’s systems.
- Managing competing priorities and meeting statutory and internal deadlines.

About you
You’ll be a confident and approachable accounting professional who enjoys building client relationships and making complex subjects easy to understand.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Strong communication and client-service skills.
- The ability to explain technical accounting and tax matters clearly.
- Experience using cloud-based accounting software and digital tools, together with the confidence to learn new systems.
- Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate financial reporting.
- The ability to manage deadlines and work collaboratively in a team-focused environment.
- The ability to work on-site at our Horwich office as part of a hybrid working arrangement.
- A recognised accounting qualification, or current study towards one, such as AAT, ACCA, ACA or equivalent. We will also consider candidates with demonstrable experience in a similar accounting role.
- Experience supporting contractors, freelancers or small businesses would be highly beneficial.
