We represent an historic Grade 1 listed estate in Hampshire undergoing a landmark multimillion-pound refurbishment and regeneration project to transform it into a residential home and thriving commercial asset. The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accountant to support the financial management and delivery of our capital works programme, working across multiple legal entities. Reporting directly to the Interim Financial Controller, the role offers a unique blend of hands-on accounting, project finance, and commercial involvement on a high-profile estate redevelopment.

You will play a key role in managing financial operations and supporting project delivery across a complex and ambitious estate redevelopment. Reporting to the interim Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports including maintaining and managing the ledgers
  • Contribute to cashflow management and ownership of banking processes
  • Assistance with project-level reporting including budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking
  • Managing VAT, CIS, payroll, and intercompany processes
  • Ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments and supplier invoices
  • Supporting procurement, contract administration, and commercial decision-making
  • Assisting with year-end processes including statutory account preparation, audits, and tax filings
  • Ad-hoc financial projects relevant to the success and growth of the estate
  • Working closely with the Interim Financial Control and project team to control costs and ensure financial compliance across all phases of the estate’s transformation

Candidate Profile

Essential:

  • Part-qualified (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • 3–5+ years’ experience in a finance role, preferably in construction or property related
  • Knowledge of VAT, payroll, and statutory accounting
  • Proficient in Xero and Microsoft Excel

Desirable:

  • Experience in property or heritage refurbishment projects
  • Familiarity with procurement and tendering procedures
  • Knowledge of property specific taxes such as CIS

Personal Attributes

  • Proactive, adaptable, and hands-on, with a strong sense of ownership
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communicator with the ability to manage diverse responsibilities
  • Interest in heritage assets, real estate, or construction projects
