Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Stockport. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial tasks, including preparing and reviewing accounts, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling bank statements.

Responsibilities include:

- Producing financial reports
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations
- Preparing tax returns
- Supporting audits
- Responding to client queries with clear, accurate information
The Accountant will collaborate with colleagues to improve processes, meet deadlines, and provide high-quality service to clients.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting, including preparation of accounts, ledgers, and reconciliations
- Experience with tax compliance and preparation of tax returns for individuals and businesses
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze and present financial data
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a client-focused and collaborative mindset
- Relevant accounting qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or progress toward qualification
- Prior experience in practice or a similar accounting environment is highly beneficial
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, professional ethics, and continuous learning in line with regulatory changes
