Caged Laser Engineering is a UK-based precision engineering and fabrication company providing high-quality metal manufacturing solutions to motorsport, automotive, industrial engineering, Defence, Aerospace and structural fabrication sectors. The team combines advanced manufacturing technology with skilled craftsmanship to deliver reliable, high-performance components, from one-off prototypes to repeat production work. With extensive in-house capabilities, including precision laser cutting, CNC machining, welding, tube bending, fabrication, finishing, and CAD design, the company maintains strong control over quality and lead times. Caged Laser Engineering is well regarded in the motorsport and performance automotive industries, producing safety-critical components such as FIA-compliant roll cages and structural assemblies. Working closely with clients, the company ensures every project is delivered on time, to specification, and built to perform.
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant / Bookkeeper to manage the company's financial records, ensure accurate bookkeeping, and support day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will maintain financial transactions, prepare reports, reconcile accounts, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities
- Record and maintain daily financial transactions.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and supplier accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Process payroll and maintain payroll records (if applicable).
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial records.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Support audits by preparing required documentation.
- Monitor expenses and identify discrepancies.
- Maintain confidential financial information.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and relevant legislation.
- Monitor monthly cash flow forecast with business manager
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.

Experience
- 2–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred (or as required by the organization).
Working Conditions
- This is a part-time position of 20hrs per week. Monday to Thursday 9.30pm to 2.30pm.
- Office-based in Holcombe.
- Occasional additional hours may be required during month-end, year-end, or audit periods.
