Role Description
The Accountant role at CGM Financial Consulting is a full-time, on-site position based in Glasgow. The accountant will manage day-to-day financial activities, including maintaining general ledgers, processing accounts payable and receivable, preparing journal entries, and reconciling bank and account balances. The role involves preparing financial statements and management reports, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The accountant will ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations, coordinate with auditors when required, and respond to internal and client queries regarding financial information. The position also includes collaborating with colleagues to improve financial processes and systems, and contributing to accurate, timely, and clear reporting for clients and leadership.

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards (e.g., GAAP or IFRS) and experience with general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheet tools (such as Excel), including experience with financial reporting and analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an on-site team setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (such as ACCA, CPA, or CA) is an advantage.
- Experience in consulting, professional services, or working with multiple clients is beneficial.
- Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and continuous professional development.
