About the Role

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established accountancy practice in Portsmouth that's looking to strengthen its accounts team with an experienced Accounts Senior.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For

You'll need previous experience within a UK accountancy practice, with a good grounding in accounts preparation.

You could be ACA/ACCA qualified, part-qualified or QBE – our client is more interested in finding someone with the right practice experience and attitude than ticking every possible box.

If you don't meet every requirement, still apply. We recruit for accountancy practices across Portsmouth and the surrounding area and regularly have opportunities at different experience levels.

Apply now for a confidential conversation. Your application won't automatically be sent to the employer – we'll speak with you first, run through the opportunity and only submit your CV once you're happy to proceed.
