Accountant Financial Reporting

Salary: £60k - £80k

Location: London

Keywords: financial reporting, audit management, year-end statements, statutory filing, internal reviews, balance sheet reconciliations, process improvements, venture capital

A leading global venture capital firm is seeking a talented Accountant, Financial Reporting to join their Finance team for a one-year maternity cover contract, based in London. This opportunity is perfect for someone with around two years of post-qualification experience, ideally with an audit background from a major accounting firm, who is eager to transition from practice into an in-house financial reporting role. You will play a pivotal part in managing year-end financial statements, coordinating audits across multiple jurisdictions, and supporting internal financial reviews.

What you'll do:

  • Review year-end financial statements for multiple entities operating across various jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Act as a key point of contact for administrators by managing audit timetables, responding to information requests, and resolving queries efficiently.
  • Assist with tax compliance activities including FATCA/CRS reporting, K-1/K-3 preparation support, and W-form validation to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate statutory filing deadlines across the group's entities, ensuring timely submissions and accurate documentation.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit files and supporting schedules so that all documentation is complete, accurate, and ready for review by auditors.
  • Perform detailed balance sheet reviews and reconciliations, investigating discrepancies thoroughly and ensuring resolution before reporting deadlines.
  • Carry out internal control reviews and testing by identifying process gaps and following up on remediation actions to strengthen financial controls.
  • Review journal entries, accruals, and provisions for accuracy prior to reporting deadlines to maintain high standards of financial integrity.
  • Liaise regularly with fund administrators, auditors, and other external advisers on reporting matters to facilitate smooth audit processes.
  • Contribute actively to process improvements across year-end workflows by sharing insights and implementing best practices.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
