About the Role
As the Accountant, you will be the backbone of our day-to-day financial operations. Reporting directly to our Chief Financial Officer, you will ensure the financial health, accuracy, and compliance of the business.
You will take ownership of everything from general bookkeeping and payroll to production accounting and artist royalties. In our dynamic, hybrid environment, you will play a critical role in keeping our commercial operations running smoothly as we scale.
Key Info
- Hours: Part-time (Approx 20 hours; which could be worked either four or five days per week)
- Term: 6-Month Fixed Term Contract
- Location: Remote-first (Ideally Bristol-based). Requires 1 day per week in-person with the CFO in Bristol, and 1 day per month at our London HQ (Kings Cross).
- Salary: £50,000-£65,000 (FTE) Salary is dependant on experience and location. To be prorated according to work schedule.

Key Responsibilities
Core Bookkeeping & Financial Operations
- Own full bookkeeping responsibilities using Xero.
- Process and file all purchase invoices, ensuring accurate and on-time payments, and maintain organised digital records.
- Oversee and manage all sales and transactional accounting.
- Reconcile balance sheet control accounts on a regular basis.
- Administer Pleo, our company expense management system.
Management Accounts & Compliance
- Prepare monthly management accounts for CFO review and sign-off.
- Manage the administration of monthly payroll (in Xero) and company pensions.
- Handle quarterly VAT reporting and ensure timely HMRC filing.
Production Accounting & Cost Reporting
- Manage the production accounting process for our video courses.
- Produce accurate monthly Cost Reports for each individual lesson/course.
- Generate internal and external cash flow and cost reports.
- Actively update cash flows and budget forecasts.

Royalties & CFO Support
- Support the tracking, calculation, and reporting of artist royalties.
- Assist the CFO with ad-hoc project work and financial analysis as the business scales.
Qualifications
- Accounting Experience: Fully qualified accountant (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) with a strong working experience in bookkeeping, management accounts, payroll and financial reporting.
- System Proficiency: Highly proficient in Xero. Experience with Pleo (or similar expense systems) and payroll processing is highly desirable.
- Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in production accounting, media, or managing artist royalties is a strong bonus.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and ensure absolute accuracy in financial reporting.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in an agile, remote-first start-up environment where processes are actively being built and refined.
