Job Opportunity for Accountant
A fabulous opportunity has arisen for a commercial and ambitious, client-focused accountant to contribute to and learn from an experienced team of experts providing a full range of accountancy and advisory services to a range of clients.
This role is full-time, based on-site in modern and attractive company offices in South Manchester.
Key Responsibilities and Involvements
- Serving clients as an extension to their businesses with a view to creating positive commercial and process outcomes
- Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Completion of corporation tax and personal tax returns
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Assisting with bookkeeping and management accounts
- Collaborating internally and consulting directly with clients to resolve queries and provide commercial and technical support
- Supporting other staff
- Assisting with audit fieldwork from time to time
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations

Key Skills, Experience and Attitudes
- The right experienced operator (QBE) or less experienced with demonstrable progress with accounting studies considered
- Proven experience as a Senior Bookkeeper or Accountant for clients
- Strong knowledge of Xero and ability to produce and understand accounts
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident working independently and with the team
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in a UK accountancy practice
- Strong working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
- Good understanding of UK tax regulations and accounting standards
- Exposure to audit work
- Willingness to continue professional development and qualification and desire to partner commercially with clients
