OPPORTUNITY

You’ll support financial reporting, month-end and year-end activities, and help ensure the accuracy of our general ledger and receivables. You’ll also contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing process improvements that strengthen our financial systems. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Prepare Financial Reporting including financial statements and other reports for review by Controller and/or Management
- Maintenance & reconciliation of SAGE 300 general ledger & reporting templates
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, risk analysis, and ad hoc reports as required
- Month end reporting and year-end completion including auditing responsibilities
- Prepare monthly working paper and update continuity schedules
- Will be part of Special Projects and process improvements
- Assist Accounts Payable clerk regarding vendor setup and maintenance
- Support Accounts Receivable Billing clerks with policyholder payments & AR reconciliation
- Other duties as required
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Have a Canadian CPA designation and at least 3 years of progressive experience
- Knowledge and experience with IFRS 17 at a P&C insurance company
- Ability to prepare and analyze financial reports
- Experience with general ledger setup, account maintenance and posting journal entries
- Understanding of accounts payable/receivable processes & controls
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and audit request
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience with ACCPAC and/or SAGE would be an asset
