Your new company
A well established accountancy practice providing a wide range of services to SMEs, owner-managed businesses and private individuals. They pride themselves on delivering a high-quality, personalised service and are looking for an experienced and proactive Accountant to join the team.

Your new role
This is a varied position offering exposure to all aspects of practice accounting. The successful candidate will work closely with a portfolio of clients and be responsible for preparing accounts, tax returns and management information, whilst supporting clients with their day-to-day financial needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
  • Preparation and submission of Corporation Tax returns
  • Preparation of Self-Assessment Tax Returns for individuals, directors and sole traders
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts
  • Reviewing bookkeeping records and maintaining accurate financial data
  • Liaising directly with clients and providing ongoing accounting and tax support
  • Assisting clients with cloud accounting software and systems queries
  • Supporting the Partners with ad hoc projects and practice-related assignments
  • Ensuring work is completed accurately and within deadlines

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a well-rounded practice professional who is comfortable working across accounts, tax and client advisory work.

Requirements

  • Ideally, you will be qualified. However, part-qualified or qualified by experience candidates will be considered
  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment
  • Strong knowledge of accounts preparation
  • Experience preparing Corporation Tax and Personal Tax returns
  • Experience producing management accounts
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and UK tax compliance
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
