Hays Senior Finance are currently recruiting for an Accountant with Manufacturing experience for a 6-month contract based in Swansea.
The position will play a key role in supporting finance operations, ensuring the smooth running of financial processes, reporting and controls. This is an excellent opportunity for finance professionals who enjoy a varied role and are confident working across both transactional finance and management accounting responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Transactional Support
- Support the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and perform balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and IFRS accounting standards.

Month-End & Reporting
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Support month-end close activities including accruals, prepayments, and variance analysis.
- Contribute to budgets, forecasts, and ad hoc financial reporting requirements.
- Assist with group reporting and consolidation submissions.
Audit & Compliance
- Provide support and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Help maintain strong financial controls and accurate financial records.
Stakeholder Support
- Respond to finance-related queries from internal stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across finance and operational teams.
- Identify and escalate potential financial risks or control issues where appropriate.

What are we looking for?
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
- Experience managing high-volume transactional finance activities.
- Manufacturing experience
- A finance qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with finance systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
