Accountant – Cardiff

The Opportunity
We are working with a progressive and growing professional services business in Cardiff to recruit an experienced Accountant into its expanding team.

The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of clients, taking responsibility for the preparation and delivery of high-quality accounts while developing strong, long-term client relationships.
The Role
As an Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing year-end statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of clients
- Producing management accounts and supporting financial reporting requirements
- Preparing corporation tax computations and associated submissions
- Supporting clients with VAT and wider compliance requirements
- Reviewing bookkeeping and accounting information
- Liaising directly with business owners, directors, and key client contacts
- Identifying opportunities to provide additional support and advisory services
- Working closely with senior colleagues across the wider business
- Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the team where appropriate
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines

About You
We are looking for someone with a strong grounding in accountancy who enjoys working directly with clients and wants to develop within a progressive environment.
You may be ACA, ACCA, or AAT qualified, currently studying towards a professional qualification, or qualified through experience.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice or professional services environment
- Strong experience preparing statutory accounts
- Good knowledge of UK accounting standards
- Exposure to corporation tax and VAT
- Confidence communicating directly with clients
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A commercial mindset and desire to understand the businesses you support
- Experience with modern cloud accounting platforms would be advantageous
