Financial Accountant
Location: Uxbridge
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum - DOE
Working Pattern: Office-based, 5 days per week
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:30
The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join a growing international finance team based in Uxbridge. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic, multi-entity environment, supporting financial reporting, month-end close activities, intercompany accounting and compliance across a network of international businesses. You will work closely with UK and overseas finance teams, supporting financial operations and contributing to process improvements within a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls and supporting effective decision-making through high-quality accounting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all accounting activities.
- Prepare and process intercompany customer and supplier invoices, statements and reconciliations.
- Complete monthly intercompany reconciliations across multiple international entities and resolve any discrepancies.
- Perform balance sheet and profit & loss account reconciliations, investigating and correcting variances where necessary.
- Prepare, maintain and review accrual and prepayment schedules.
- Allocate employee expenses accurately across departments and cost centres.
- Support UK VAT reporting requirements and related compliance activities.
- Assist with vendor master data maintenance, ensuring appropriate controls and validation checks are followed.
- Support internal and external audit processes, preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.
- Produce financial analysis and reporting to support the Finance team and wider business.
- Respond to finance-related queries from internal stakeholders.
- Assist with ad hoc projects, process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidate Requirements
- Qualifications: ACA, ACCA or CIMA finalist or newly qualified accountant.
- Experience:
- Experience supporting month-end accounting and financial reporting processes within a commercial environment.
- Strong understanding of intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
- Experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
- Good understanding of double-entry accounting principles and financial controls.
- Working knowledge of UK VAT requirements.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and data analysis.
- Experience using SAP S/4HANA or another major ERP/accounting system.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
