Accountant - Client Manager
near Portsmouth, Hampshire
to £58k pa
I am recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing accountancy practice based near Portsmouth, who are seeking an experienced Accountant - Client Manager to lead a small accounting team and take ownership of a portfolio of small business clients.
The practice combines a professional, technically strong approach with a genuinely supportive team culture, and is looking for a candidate who is ACCA, ACA or CTA qualified (or equivalent) with at least five years' relevant practice experience.

Key responsibilities:
- Managing a portfolio of Sole Trader, Partnership and Limited Company clients, including accounts, tax returns, VAT and CIS
- Supervising and mentoring a small accounting team, reviewing their work and supporting their technical development
- Advising clients on tax efficiency, cashflow, budgeting and pricing
- Leading year-end client meetings and conducting client fee reviews
- Acting as the primary point of liaison between clients and HMRC
Candidate requirements:
- Full membership of a chartered professional body (ACCA, ACA, CTA or equivalent)
- A minimum of five years' experience in practice, managing a broad client base
- Proficiency with Xero, QuickBooks, DEXT and FreeAgent
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to lead, train and support a team
