Duties & Responsibilities:

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team in Stevenage. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and assisting with various accounting functions to ensure the smooth operation of our financial department.

Other duties include:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation & review of monthly US GAAP TB.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Assist with VAT / CIT / RDEC preparation & submission.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as statutory regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy and provide financial insights.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by management.

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
  • Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role, preferably within a corporate environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (e.g., US GAAP, UK GAAP).
  • Proficiency in Oracle and Microsoft Excel.
