Accounts Manager – Agriculture – Independent Firm – Dumfries

As an Agricultural Accounts Manager, you will:
- Manage the daily operations and workflow of the agricultural accounting division in Dumfries, ensuring all accounts, VAT returns, and financial submissions meet the highest technical standards.
- Provide direct line management, mentorship, and technical guidance to the accounts team, supporting their professional development and conducting formal appraisals.
- Work directly with farming enterprises and agricultural clients as a trusted advisor, identifying strategic tax planning, restructuring, and commercial growth opportunities.
- Actively promote the practice across regional events and industry initiatives to build new client relationships and expand the firm's agricultural presence.

As the successful candidate you will:
- Hold an AAT, ACA, or ACCA qualification, or be qualified by experience with an extensive senior agricultural accountancy practice background.
- Possess 5+ years of accountancy practice experience managing client portfolios with strong technical expertise in statutory accounting standards.
- Demonstrate proven leadership capability in overseeing team workflows, conducting staff appraisals, and managing operational productivity.
- Have proficiency using specialized accounting software and practice management tools such as Digita (DAPA), Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or APS.
