Accounting Advisory Specialist - £80-85k + 10% Bonus - Central London (Hybrid)
My client is a large global technology business looking for a strong technical accountant to join their Group Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity in a business that offers great progression.
About this role
The Group Finance Technical Accounting unit sets group accounting policies, provides technical accounting advice, approves the accounting for transactions and provides accounting training throughout the group. This team works closely with external reporting, consolidation and statutory reporting teams and has good exposure to very senior stakeholders and visibility over interesting matters within the business. The team's output has a material impact on the group’s results.

Key responsibilities
- Partnering with Group Finance, business unit finance and commercial teams to advise on the accounting implications of transactions, deals and new contracts, including review of supporting accounting assessments.
- Designing and delivering accounting training across the group to strengthen technical capability and support continuous professional development.
- Leading the implementation of new and revised accounting standards across the organisation.
- Maintaining, reviewing and enforcing compliance with group accounting policies.
- Owning key group accounting processes, including goodwill impairment, share-based payments, going concern and long-term viability assessments.
- Preparing and contributing to Audit Committee and Board reporting on significant accounting matters.
- Owning the preparation and review of year-end and interim financial statement disclosures.
- Managing relationships with external auditors and leading discussions on accounting judgements, technical matters and the audit of the consolidated financial statements.
- Acting as the second line of defence for treasury-related transactions, including the review and approval of technical accounting papers and providing guidance on ad hoc queries.

Must haves:
- Experience working within an accounting advisory team
- Strong technical accounting IFRS knowledge
- ACA qualified
