Job Description
Join us as a German Accounting & Tax Manager, where you'll take ownership of statutory accounting and tax for our German entities during a key period for the finance team. This temporary role is suited to someone who enjoys combining technical accounting expertise with hands-on tax and statutory reporting responsibilities.
What you'll be doing
Accounting
- Prepare annual statutory financial statements for our German entities.
- Lead and support two General Ledger Accountants.
- Oversee our outsourced accounting provider, resolving technical issues and improving ways of working.
- Coordinate the annual external audit, ensuring documentation is prepared and delivered on time.
- Review income statements, approve journal entries and oversee month-end accounting activities.
- Be the escalation point for Procure-to-Pay accounting queries.

Tax
- Coordinate the preparation of German corporate income tax returns with external advisers.
- Support tax audits, including corporate tax, VAT and property tax.
- Manage relationships with German tax authorities and external advisers.
- Oversee withholding tax compliance and filings.
- Support the preparation of current and deferred IFRS tax provisions.
- Complete monthly tax reconciliations.
Transfer Pricing & Treasury
- Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of transfer pricing arrangements.
- Monitor changes in German tax legislation and help maintain compliance.
- Review payment proposals and support cash repatriation activities.
- Act as the finance lead for the banking migration project, including user acceptance testing.
Qualifications
About you
You'll be an experienced accounting or tax professional with a strong understanding of German statutory reporting and tax compliance.
You'll also have:
- An accounting or tax qualification.
- Experience of German GAAP.
- General Ledger and tax accounting experience.
- Experience working within an international business.
- Fluency in both German and English.
