Accounts Assistant | Graduate Opportunity | £28,000 + Study Support
Ascent Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a fantastic business in Wilmslow searching for an Accounts Assistant to join their growing finance team.
This is a great early-career opportunity for an ambitious recent graduate or finance professional with a minimum of 9 months' experience in a transactional finance role, looking to build a long-term career in finance within a growing and well-established business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing bank postings across all bank accounts (high volume)
- Posting all bank transactions and reconciling balances.
- Posting credit card transactions and reconciling to statements.
- Reconciling all bank accounts on a daily and weekly basis, as required.
- Ensuring all bank payments are made accurately and on time.
- Processing quarterly payments.
- Resolving payment and bank account queries.
- Providing banking information and support to other departments across the business, as required.

Skills & experience:
- Minimum 9 months' experience within a transactional finance/accounts role
- A numerate degree (finance, economics, accounting, maths, law or similar) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and numerical ability
- Good Excel and analytical skills
- Organised, proactive and keen to learn
- Clear communication skills and a positive attitude
