The Opportunity

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our Finance team on a part-time basis (20-25 hours per week), reporting directly to the Finance Controller.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a varied finance role, taking ownership of their work and contributing to a growing business. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the company while maintaining strong financial controls and delivering excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Processing supplier and contractor invoices across multiple currencies.
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies.
  • Processing employee expense claims.
  • Managing supplier queries in a timely and professional manner.

Accounts Receivable

  • Raising and processing customer invoices across multiple currencies.
  • Credit control and debt collection activities.
  • Reconciling customer accounts and resolving queries.
  • Supporting the maintenance of accurate sales ledger records.

General Finance Duties

  • Monitoring and managing the finance inbox.
  • Liaising with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Supporting month-end reporting and finance processes.
  • Maintaining strong financial controls and compliance procedures.
  • Assisting with ad hoc finance and administrative tasks as required.

Skills/Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role.
  • Experience of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
  • Experience working with multiple currencies.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Sage (desirable but not essential).
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • The ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A professional, trustworthy and confidential approach to handling financial information.
