Finance & Accounts Administrator
Job Role Overview
The Finance & Accounts Administrator is responsible for the effective day-to-day financial administration of BSDHT, ensuring that financial records, transactions, reconciliations, and reporting are accurate, timely, and maintained to a high standard.
Working closely with the General Manager, Treasurer, and external Accountants, the role will provide reliable financial information to support operational decision-making, budgeting, cash-flow management, and the effective financial governance of the organisation.
The postholder will take ownership of the Society's routine accounting processes, including purchase and sales ledger administration, bank and payment-platform reconciliations, expense claims, payroll journals, deferred income schedules, regional group accounting, and financial reporting. They will also support the Treasurer and General Manager with financial planning, compliance, audit preparation, and the ongoing improvement of financial controls and processes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
