Everyone at Lidl plays a part in our success. We are looking for people who are practical, work well with others, and want to help us improve how we operate.
We want you to join us.
We are looking for an Accounting & Finance Consultant to join our Accounting Projects team. You will work directly with our Finance, Accounting, Tax, and Customs teams to make sure we are embracing new technology and staying efficient
Your main task to start with will be helping us move our financial data from SAP FI to SAP S/4HANA. You need to understand how financial data flows through a business. Since this is a technical role, you must have practical experience with SAP and have extensive understanding of accounting.
At Lidl, we offer a hybrid working model to give you the best of both worlds. Spend three days or more in our state-of-the-art office, where you can enjoy an on-site gym, restaurant, and more of the perks you deserve. And with up to two days at home, you’ll find the work/life balance you need to thrive.
What you'll do
- Collaborate in the transition to S4 HANA while also managing day-to-day operations of the existing SAP system.
- Serve as the SAP Key User, responsible for managing system configuration and ensuring timely implementation of system updates.
- Proactively identify and implement technical improvements outside of SAP to optimize processes across the various finance and accounting teams.
- Find ways to automate repetitive tasks and increase efficiency across the teams
- Reconcile accounts during the migration to ensure every transaction is moved correctly from the old system to the new one.
- Clean up old data before it is moved and check balances during the transition to keep our records ready for audit.
- Develop a deep understanding of how our current financial systems interact with wider business applications.
- Act as one of the go-to people for the business as they learn to use the new S/4HANA software, including our invoice approval systems
- Create simple user guides and run training sessions to help colleagues use the new system effectively.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
