Accounting Manager
As our new Accounting Manager, you'll lead the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting while developing a high-performing Accounting team. Combining hands-on accounting with people leadership, you'll take ownership of key areas of the month-end close and ensure our financial reporting is accurate, well controlled and delivered to a consistently high standard.
You'll also play an important role in transforming how our Accounting team operates. Working closely with Finance Business Partners, FP&A, Data & Systems and operational stakeholders, you'll challenge existing ways of working and identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate our accounting processes. If you're a qualified accountant who enjoys developing people, improving processes and making a tangible impact, we'd love to hear from you.
This is an opportunity to help shape the next phase of our Accounting function. You'll have the autonomy to challenge how we work today, develop the team and build simpler, stronger and more efficient accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities

- Lead, coach and develop Management Accountants and Assistant Accountants, empowering the team to take ownership, challenge existing ways of working and continuously improve how we operate.
- Strengthen financial controls and accounting processes, ensuring policies and standards are consistently applied across the business.
- Drive simplification, standardisation and automation, reducing manual processes and improving the efficiency and quality of financial reporting.
- Partner with FP&A, Finance Business Partners, operational teams and wider Finance functions to provide accounting guidance, resolve issues and support transformation initiatives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
