Discover the Role

As an Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in the delivery of fund accounting and financial reporting services to a diverse portfolio of alternative investment clients. You will lead audit engagements, review financial reporting deliverables, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure the highest standards of quality and client service. In addition, you will support the development of junior team members and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary client contact for all fund accounting and financial reporting matters.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and oversee the delivery of high-quality accounting and reporting services.
  • Lead the financial statement preparation and audit process, ensuring timely completion and resolution of audit queries.
  • Review and approve work produced by junior team members, providing guidance and technical support where required.
  • Ensure compliance with reporting deadlines, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.
  • Plan and prioritize workloads effectively to meet client expectations and business objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with teams across the business to deliver a seamless client experience.
  • Support the development of junior team members through coaching and mentoring.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline;
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent);
  • 3-5 years of experience in fund accounting, financial reporting, or external audit, ideally within the Private Equity and Real Estate (PERE) sector;
  • Strong knowledge of fund accounting principles and financial statement preparation;
  • Excellent understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP;
  • Experience with investment accounting systems, preferably Investran or similar platforms;
  • Good understanding of alternative investment fund structures and related transactions;
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills;
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities;
  • Previous experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members would be considered an advantage.
