Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead the delivery of accounting and financial reporting services to a portfolio of financial services clients. The role requires strong technical accounting expertise, a proven ability to manage complex client engagements, and experience leading teams within a professional services environment. The successful candidate will act as a point of contact to the clients and play a key role in maintaining high standards of quality, professionalism, and client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review annual and interim financial statements prepared in accordance with IFRS, UK GAAP, or other relevant accounting frameworks.
  • Lead the delivery of financial reporting across the full reporting lifecycle, including management accounts, quarterly reporting, and statutory financial statements.
  • Prepare and review financial information for board and investor reporting, including presentations to boards or senior stakeholders where required.
  • Oversee bookkeeping activities to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and integrity of the general ledger.
  • Provide oversight of payables and receivables processes to support accurate reporting and effective working capital management.
  • Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting, including preparation and review of budgets and forecasts.
  • Coordinate financial reporting inputs required for tax compliance and support adherence to applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review cash flow projections and related financial analysis to support decision-making and investor reporting.
  • Manage a portfolio of accounting and financial reporting engagements, ensuring adherence to professional and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate and manage audit processes, including liaison with external auditors and oversight of audit support deliverables.
  • Oversee and review the work of team members across multiple levels, providing coaching, feedback, and on-the-job development.
  • Provide commercially focused advice to clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Deliver client-specific and ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Contribute to internal process improvements, including enhancements to financial reporting processes, templates, and systems.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and prepare technical papers addressing accounting treatments and new or revised standards.

Required

Qualifications and Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant and member of a recognized professional body (e.g. ICAEW, ACCA, ICAS or equivalent).
  • 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance roles. Strong technical accounting knowledge, with hands-on experience applying IFRS and/or UK GAAP.
  • Proven experience reviewing financial statements and managing end-to-end financial reporting engagements.
  • Experience working with financial services clients, including exposure to funds or investment-related structures.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to clients and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • High standards of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Exposure to Jersey’s financial services regulatory environment, including working with JFSC-regulated entities.

Preferred

  • Previous experience within a Big 4 or another top-tier professional services firm.
  • Experience within private equity, venture capital, private credit, or similar investment structures.
  • Experience planning and managing statutory and non-statutory external audits.
  • Familiarity with accounting systems and experience supporting system implementations or migration projects.
  • Additional financial qualifications or certifications (e.g. financial modelling, valuation, or related disciplines).
