Accounting & Performance Business Analyst
Job title: Business Analyst
Duration: 6 months + further extensions
Type: Contract
Location: London - Hybrid
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support an Aladdin platform transition, with a particular focus on the parallel-run phase. The role will work across business, technology and external providers to ensure accounting and performance processes, data and outputs are reconciled and ready for migration.
Key Responsibilities
- Define accounting and performance requirements, processes, data flows and controls for the parallel phase.
- Support the parallel-run strategy, reconciliation approach, acceptance criteria and testing.
- Manage reconciliations across positions, transactions, cash, income, accruals, expenses, valuations, NAV-related data and performance outputs.
- Investigate breaks and discrepancies and support root-cause analysis and resolution.
- Coordinate dependencies across reference data, transactions, positions, prices, FX, benchmarks, corporate actions and accounting data.
- Work with internal teams, BlackRock/Aladdin, middle-office providers, fund accountants, custodians and other vendors.
- Support SIT/UAT, operational readiness, cutover and transition into BAU.

Requirements

- Strong Business Analysis experience within asset/investment management, ideally within investment-platform, middle-office, accounting or operating-model transformation programmes.
- Good understanding of the investment accounting lifecycle and the interaction between investment managers, middle-office providers, custodians and fund accountants.
- Experience across several of the following: positions and transactions, cash and reconciliations, income and accruals, corporate actions, pricing and valuation, NAV/accounting, fund accounting data, performance measurement, benchmarks and data/interface management.
- Aladdin or comparable investment-management platform transformation experience highly desirable, with direct Aladdin implementation, migration or parallel-run experience particularly valuable.
- Strong experience with reconciliation and root-cause analysis, requirements management, data analysis, test/UAT support and vendor management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills, with experience working across technical and non-technical teams and external providers.
