About the Role
We are working with a growing, modern and forward-thinking accountancy practice seeking an experienced Accounting Practice Manager to play a key role in its continued growth and day-to-day operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant, Client Manager, Accounts Manager or Practice Manager looking to step into a broader, more influential position. The role goes beyond traditional accounts preparation, with responsibility for client relationships, technical review, workflow, team development and practice improvement, working closely with the Practice Director.
The position is part-time, three days per week, with flexibility and home working available for the right person. It offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant seeking greater responsibility alongside a strong work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management & Advisory
- Act as a key point of contact for a portfolio of clients
- Build strong, long-term and trusted client relationships
- Conduct face-to-face and virtual client meetings
- Review accounts and explain financial results clearly to clients
- Provide practical advice across accounts, personal tax, corporation tax and VAT

Technical Review & Quality Control
- Review statutory accounts and tax returns prepared by the wider team
- Review personal and corporation tax work
- Review VAT returns and provide technical guidance where required
Practice Management & Workflow
- Oversee the day-to-day workflow of the practice
- Allocate work and monitor deadlines
- Ensure clients receive work on time and to the expected standard
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and efficiencies
Team Leadership & Development
- Support, mentor and develop junior and semi-senior team members
- Review staff work and provide constructive feedback
- Help develop a positive and collaborative team culture
About You
We are looking for an experienced practice accountant who is comfortable operating beyond pure accounts preparation and wants to take genuine ownership of clients, workflow and team development.

You will ideally have:
- Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice
- Strong technical knowledge of UK accounts and taxation
- Good knowledge of personal tax, corporation tax and VAT
- Experience reviewing accounts and tax work prepared by others
ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent qualifications are desirable, although relevant practice experience will also be considered.
