Pay Range: $90,533.00 - $120,734.00
The Accounting Supervisor
The Accounting Supervisor oversees accounting staff, ensures timely reporting, and implements process improvements. This role bridges technical expertise and leadership within the accounting team.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or an equivalent level of experience
- CPA certification preferred
- 5+ years or more progressive experience in accounting roles preferably in banking
- Some supervisory or management experience preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Thorough understanding of banking operations, financial products, and regulatory requirements including GAAP and SOX Compliance
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with ability to effectively coach, motivate, and develop team members
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with commitment to excellence and continuous improvement
Tasks Performed
- 50% - Oversight of team members, provide direction on the accounting functions and systems that they support timely and accurately
- 30% - Direct and lead various team projects to support company-wide strategic directives and product development. Develop and implement improvements to accounting processes and procedures
- 15% - Train, mentor, develop, and oversee accounting team members. Conduct performance reviews and evaluations, coaching, and mentoring as applicable
- 5% - Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Communicate effectively with internal and/or external customers
- Stationary 75% of time or greater
- Move objects to a maximum of 10 lbs
