Accounts Admin Roles - Part Time or Full Time (Maternity Cover)

The full time position will cover both roles outlined below. The working hours are 8.30am–5.30pm, Monday to Friday, based in Glenavy. Part time positions are 20 hours per week, based in Glenavy.

Accounts Receivable Role

About the Role

We are looking for an organised, motivated and enthusiastic person to join our accounts team on a maternity cover basis. Previous accounts or bookkeeping experience would be beneficial; however, we are also very open to candidates with less experience who have a good aptitude for figures, strong attention to detail and a genuine desire to learn and develop their accounting skills.

Full training will be provided on our systems, processes and the specific requirements of the role.

The role involves supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, including customer accounts, banking, reconciliations and financial administration.

Good communication skills are important as you will have regular contact with customers and colleagues across departments including Sales and Dispatch.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with accounts experience or for someone looking to develop their career in accounts and finance within a growing business.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Customer Accounts
    • Process and batch customer invoices.
    • Allocate and reconcile customer payments daily.
    • Issue invoices and statements accurately and on time.
    • Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up overdue balances.
    • Help resolve customer account queries promptly and professionally.
  • Banking
    • Record customer receipts and process bank lodgements.
    • Manage petty cash and change requirements where applicable.
    • Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Communication
    • Respond professionally and promptly to telephone and email enquiries.
    • Build good working relationships with customers.
    • Provide administrative and financial support to the wider management team when required.

Skills & Experience

What We're Looking For

  • Some previous experience in accounts, bookkeeping, finance or a similar administrative role would be beneficial.
  • Good numerical ability and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • A willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently once trained, while also being comfortable asking for support when required.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • A positive and practical approach to problem-solving.

Accounts Payable Role

Good communication skills are important as you will have regular contact with suppliers and colleagues across departments including Goods In and Purchasing.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with accounts experience or for someone looking to develop their career in accounts and finance within a growing business.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Supplier Accounts
    • Download and process supplier invoices.
    • Accurately enter purchase invoices.
    • Monthly reconciliation purchase ledger.
    • Prepare weekly supplier payment runs.
    • Record supplier payments.
    • Assist with the day-to-day banking activities of the business.
  • Year-End Accounts
    • Assist with preparing year-end financial information for the company's accountants.
    • Review nominal ledger accounts to help ensure accurate financial posting.
    • Provide supporting information and documentation for year-end accounts.
  • Communication
    • Respond professionally and promptly to telephone and email enquiries.
    • Build good working relationships with suppliers.
    • Provide administrative and financial support to the wider management team when required.
