Job Description
Accounts Administrator
Bristol | Office-based | Full-time, Monday to Friday | £28,000 - £32,000 depending on experience
Vargo Group is recruiting an Accounts Administrator to join our client's Bristol finance and administration team. Working closely with the Finance Manager, Accounts Manager and Office Manager, you'll support purchase ledger, subcontractor payments and the day-to-day running of a busy office.
What you'll do
- Process supplier invoices, raise supplier and subcontractor purchase orders, reconcile supplier statements and help prepare weekly and monthly payment runs.
- Resolve supplier queries and maintain accurate records in COINS ERP.
- Manage subcontractor applications for payment, produce payment certificates and upload these into COINS.
- Work with the Commercial team on payment queries, keeping subcontractor documentation and payment notices up to date.
- Help manage the central Accounts inbox, answer telephone enquiries and provide wider office administration support.
- Provide holiday cover for payroll administration and assist with month-end and routine finance tasks.

What you'll bring
- At least 3 years' accounting experience, with relevant accounts or finance administration experience.
- Strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Good working knowledge of Excel and Outlook.
- Clear written and verbal communication in English and a professional, approachable manner.
- GCSEs or equivalent.
AAT Level 3 or above, or current AAT study, is desirable. Construction experience and knowledge of subcontractor payment processes would be useful, but are not essential. Full training on COINS is provided.
