Cammach Recruitment for Accounts Administrator

Cammach are currently recruiting for an Accounts Administrator on behalf of our Aberdeen-based client. The company is growing rapidly, creating an exciting opportunity to join a developing and expanding business. This is a permanent (staff) opportunity which will be fully office based.

Role

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Accounts Administrator to join our client's growing marine safety business in Aberdeen. This is a varied role that would suit someone who enjoys being involved in all aspects of accounts administration while also supporting the wider business wherever required.

As a small to medium-sized company, we are looking for someone who is happy to roll up their sleeves, take ownership of their workload, and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the business. No two days are the same, and flexibility and a positive attitude are essential.

Responsibilities

Accounts Administration

  • Processing sales invoices and credit notes
  • Managing purchase ledger activities and supplier invoices
  • Reconciling creditor and debtor accounts
  • Credit control and customer account management
  • Processing supplier payments
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Monitoring cash flow and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Assisting with monthly management accounts preparation
  • Supporting VAT returns and year-end audit requirements
  • Processing employee expenses
  • Maintaining purchase order records and ensuring financial compliance
  • Assisting with payroll administration where required

Business Support & Additional Duties

  • Providing general administrative support across the business
  • Assisting with project administration and customer documentation
  • Supporting stock control and inventory reporting
  • Helping coordinate logistics, shipping and supplier information
  • Maintaining company databases and records
  • Supporting health, safety and quality administration
  • Assisting with event planning, client visits and office management activities
  • Supporting directors and operational teams with ad hoc administrative tasks
  • Taking on additional responsibilities as the business grows

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in an accounts administration, finance assistant or bookkeeping role
  • Experience working within an SME environment is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger and reconciliations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience using Sage, Xero or similar accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Able to work independently and prioritise workload effectively
  • Positive, flexible attitude with a willingness to get involved in wider business activities
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-player mentality
