Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Accounts and Audit Manager role based in Birmingham. The Accounts and Audit Manager oversees the planning, execution, and completion of audits and accounts assignments for a portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The role involves liaising with clients to understand their business needs, presenting findings and recommendations, and identifying opportunities to add value through advisory services. The Accounts and Audit Manager also contributes to process improvement, supports business development initiatives, and helps maintain strong client relationships through timely and professional communication.

Qualifications

  • Strong financial reporting, accounting, and audit skills, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant standards and regulations.
  • Experience in managing audit and accounts engagements, including planning, fieldwork supervision, and review of working papers and financial statements.
  • Proficiency in using accounting and audit software, spreadsheets, and other digital tools to prepare and analyze financial data.
  • Effective client relationship management skills, including the ability to explain complex issues clearly and provide practical, forward-looking advice.
  • Team leadership and people management capabilities, including coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback for junior colleagues.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) and relevant post-qualification experience in practice.
  • Knowledge of UK tax, corporate finance, and business advisory services is an advantage, particularly for SME and entrepreneurial clients.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, continuous professional development, and adherence to firm and regulatory standards.
