Salary: £8 per hour

Hours: 08.30am – 16.00pm with an unpaid 30 minute lunch.
Contract: Apprenticeship
Reporting to: Directors

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Accounts Apprentice to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in finance and gain valuable practical experience while working towards a recognised accounting qualification.
You will receive full training and support while developing your knowledge of accounting, finance administration, and business processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Recording financial transactions on accounting systems
  • Assisting with bank reconciliations and allocating payments
  • Preparing and maintaining financial records
  • Processing employee expenses and maintaining supporting documentation
  • Filing and organising financial documentation
  • Responding to finance-related queries from customers, suppliers, and colleagues
  • Ensuring records are accurate and kept up to date
  • Supporting the wider finance team with general administrative duties
  • Maintaining confidentiality of financial and business information
  • Completing all required apprenticeship training and coursework

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Keen to learn and develop a career in accounting and finance
  • Reliable, organised, and able to manage their time effectively
  • Comfortable working with numbers and paying close attention to detail
  • Confident using computers and willing to learn new software
  • A good communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Professional and approachable
  • Able to work independently while also contributing to a team
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and willing to take on new responsibilities

Previous accounting experience is not required. We are more interested in your attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to developing your skills.

Skills & Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent), particularly Maths and English
  • A genuine interest in accounting and finance
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Any previous experience in an office, administration, retail, customer service, or finance environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
